Not Literature of the I, but Literature of the Who Am I

It is 12:21 PM Thursday afternoon here in West Michigan. It is bitter cold and rainy this afternoon. I won’t be surprise if snows today due it being so cold. I am not ready for Winter, but we all are victims of the weather.

I got up this morning around 6:15 AM. I got up because I was having intense weird dreams. So I got up made a fresh pot of coffee and then a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. I messed with our main computer and then ate my mush.

Carol got home from work around 8:35 AM and went to bed around 9:30 AM. Carol is now off six nights from work.

I finished reading this morning the novel ‘The Invented Part’ by Rodrigo Fresan. I have been reading this afternoon, ‘The Art Of Flight’ by Sergio Pitol Translated From The Spanish By George Henson.

There is not much else to report this afternoon. Last night I filmed a video for my Youtube channel and read, ‘The Invented Part’ by Rodrigo Fresan.

I did get in the mail yesterday volume 2 of Pitol’s trilogy ‘Trilogy of Memory’ titled, ‘The Journey’ Translated From The Spanish By George Henson.

Well I suppose I will close to drift. It is the last day of October 2019.

broken wings

It is a Wednesday inside a cold wet gray Dead Zone. I do not see a blazing cozy fire in the hearth.

I got up this morning around 6:15 AM. When I crawl out of bed in the morning my whole aches. I feel stiff inside in my old age. I got up and immediately cooked myself a big breakfast. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. I am not into afternoon meals or evening meals. If I am going to eat a meal during the day I prefer the morning. I wish I could eat a meal in the morning and not have to think about eating the rest of the day. I am thankful for food in a world were countless millions go without food.

I ate my breakfast this morning messing with our main computer. After messing with our main computer and eating food I wrote in my paper diary. Carol got home from work around 8:35 AM this morning. She went to bed around 9:30 AM for the day. She goes back to work tonight.

This morning I left the house to do errands. I picked up coffee beans and a prescription on my errands. I stopped at two thrift stores while out and found only one used paperback, ‘A Stranger In The Kingdom’ a novel by Howard Frank Mosher. We have in our library two other books by Mosher, ‘The Fall of the Year’ and ‘Northern Borders’.

So Time has gone by once again. Last night I filmed a video for my Youtube channel and read from a book titled, ‘The Invented Part’ a novel by Rodrigo Fresan Translated From The Spanish By Will Vanderhyden.

Well I will close to drift. There is nothing.

Planet Life

It is 11:52 AM late Tuesday morning here in west Michigan. It is another cold, damp, gray day. It is predicted to snow this week. We need to call our snow removable man to make sure he will clear our driveway during the upcoming snow storm. We need to get in and out of our driveway this Winter. I hate to be stuck inside this house all winter. There is a possibility of snowing being so deep that our house will be invisible from the street.

This morning I got up around 6:15 AM. Carol had gotten up this morning around 4 o’clock AM. So I got up wandered into our living room and dozed. When I woke up I walked slowly to our kitchen and made a pot of oatmeal for breakfast. Carol and I ate our oatmeal and then left to go grocery shopping and then take old clothes to a thrift store in Zeeland, Michigan. These old clothes had belonged to Carol’s elderly friend Pam who is getting rid of stuff because she believes she is going to die soon. Pam is 94 years old and wants to end this life and go to  Planet Life.

At this thrift store where we dropped off old clothes I found these three used books to ADD to our library-

‘The House of Getty’ biography by Russell Miller

‘The King In The Tree’ 3 novellas by Steven Millhauser

‘Isak Dinesen: The Life of a Storyteller’ biography by Judith Thurman

We were home from our travels around 11:15 AM today. Carol works the next two nights, so she will soon be going to bed for the day to sleep. I plan to brush my teeth and read some more of the novel, ‘The Invented Part’ by Rodrigo Fresan Translated From The Spanish By Will Vanderhyden this afternoon. The novel ‘The Invented Part’ is the first volume of a trilogy. Yesterday I received in our mail the second volume of this trilogy titled, ‘The Dreamed Part’ by Rodrigo Fresan Translated From The Spanish By Will Vanderhyden. I also have been reading by Rodrigo Fresen his novel, ‘The Bottom of the Sky’ Translated from the Spanish by Will Vanderhyden.

Well, I will close since it is now 12:07 PM in a cold dark Death Flow. There is no way of escape. Trapped.

Blackgaze

It is 2:26 PM Monday afternoon, it is cold and gray today. The landscape is beginning to look bare once again.

I am falling asleep so I better speed this up before I pass out. I got up this morning around 6:34 AM. When I got up I saw my wife sitting in our living room reading. I was hungry so I immediately ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast. I cooked Carol eggs for breakfast this morning. After breakfast I wrote in my paper diary and talked to Carol.

I left to volunteer at the Book Nook around 9:40 AM. The Book Nook was not busy so I read and wandered the store till my replacement came at 1 o’clock PM. When I got home I found Carol not home. I ate lunch and wrote in my paper diary. Now I am writing in my online diaries.

The mail just came and there was a note from our son Josiah. Joe sent a photo of Marika.

Last night I do not remember so I won’t try to write about it. I suppose I will close to drift through existence.

all is lost

It is a cold damp gray late Sunday morning here in West Michigan. It is the last Sabbath of October 2019. Next Sabbath we will in the month of November 2019. Where will we be next week? Nobody can count on another tomorrow.

I got up this morning around 6:33 AM. When I got up I found my wife in her usual spot in our living room reading her Bible. I made a fresh pot of coffee and a pot of oatmeal. After making for us oatmeal I messed with our main computer. After messing with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary and ate my oatmeal.

Carol left for Covenant PCA around 8 o’clock AM and I sat by our main computer listening to the music of the Swans and Current 93. So has gone by Time.

I plan to watch professional football today. The day will go by.

Last night is no longer important so I won’t go into what expired last night. Carol did have face time on her cell phone with Josiah, Mairka and Hannah. We went to bed around 11 o’clock PM last night. Now it is another day.

I will close to brush my teeth and wait.

Food Drive

It is a Saturday afternoon in the brutal death flow. It is 44 degrees and gray outside. There was layer of frost on the ground this morning. We are predicted to have snow showers next week.

I am tired and thought about not writing today in my online diaries, but I will force myself to write a few words. Right now there is a college football game on TV (I have the TV on mute) and I am making a fresh pot of coffee. Carol is gone once again visiting someone. Carol is always leaving to visit someone. This morning she left to have breakfast with a friend. Late this morning she left to run around and I went with her. While I was running around with my wife we visited thrift stores so I could look at their old used books. I bought these used books today for fun-

‘Robicheaux’ A Dave Robicheaux Novel by James Lee Burke

‘Man Ray 1890-1976’ photography/Art History Edited by Manfred Heiting

‘Being Nixon: A Man Divided’ biography/American History by Evan Thomas

‘Conquest: Montezuma, Cortes and the Fall of Old Mexico’ Central American history by Hugh Thomas

‘The Elephanta Suite’ three novellas by Paul Theroux

Carol and I were home from our running around by 12:05 PM. We ate lunch and then turned on the TV to watching college football. I have been mainly reading today when not falling asleep from a novel titled, ‘The Bottom of the Sky’ by Rodrigo Fresan Translated from the Spanish by Will Vanderhyden.

I will close to fight to stay awake.

the Hidden Gospels

It is 2:29 PM Friday afternoon here in West Michigan. It is a cold gray day. It is predicted to snow next week. As I sit here typing all of sudden I feel myself falling asleep. I need to wake up because this afternoon Caleb and his family are coming over for an early dinner. Carol worked last night and only got four hours sleep, so she is tired also. Carol and I two tired old people.

Today I once again volunteered at the local library used books store from 10 o’clock AM till 1 o’clock PM. When I got home I had a piece of toast and messed with our main computer. After messing with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary and then Carol got up to face existence.

At the Book Nook I read from a book titled, ‘Mary McGrory: The First Queen Of Journalism’ by John Norris. I brought home from the Book Nook these used books to ADD to our library-

‘No Go the Bogeyman: Scaring, Lulling and Making Mock’ Cultural Studies by Marina Warner

‘The Sisters of Sinai: How Two Lady Adventures Discovered the Hidden Gospels’ biography by Janet Soskice

‘The Years Of Lyndon Johnson: Means of Ascent’ biography by Robert A. Caro

I should mentioned that I filmed a short video this morning for my Youtube channel

Last night I watched some television and messed with our main computer. I went to bed around 11 o’clock PM. Carol worked last night and got home late from work this morning, because after work she went to a grocery store.

Since I am about to pass out from exhaustion I will close to drift.

the Messiah living in me

It is 10:28 AM Thursday late morning here in West Michigan. It is cold cloudy gray day with patches of blue sky. It has been a typical morning thus far. Nothing strange has happened that I am aware of this morning. I got up around 6:15 AM and got myself a cup of coffee and fooled around with our main computer. Last night I filmed a video while Carol was out with family members.

After messing with our main computer I wrote in my paper diary and read from these two books for morning worship-

‘Living in Union with Christ: Paul’s Gospel and Christian Moral Identity’ by Grant Macaskill

‘Participating in Christ: Explorations in Paul’s Theology and Spirituality’ by Michael J. Gorman

Carol got home from work around 9 o’clock AM and went to bed around 9:30 AM. When Carol went to bed I went outside and raked off our front lawn dead leaves. I rake the dead leaves into the street to be picked up by Holland Public Works. Now I am cooling off from physical exercise by writing in my online diaries. I have nothing important to do today, but wait for eternity to come.

Last night I mainly read late into the night from a novel titled, ‘Ducks, Newburyport’ by Lucy Ellmann. Now it is another day in my life. Carol works tonight and then she is off to next week. We are coming to the end of October 2019.

Well I suppose I will close to sit and wait for something to make me aware that I am alive in Christ Jesus.

warn Christians not to take part in idol feasts

It is 12:01 PM Wednesday afternoon in the ongoing flow of death. This afternoon it is cold and sunny. Finally the trees are turning color and losing their leaves.

I got up this morning around 6:30 AM. I got up and immediately got dressed because we had to drop off the car to have it looked at. So Carol and I dropped off the car and drove our van to a place near us for breakfast. We were home from going out for breakfast around 8:15 AM. Carol left at 8:30 AM to have coffee with a neighbor down the street from us. I wrote in my paper diary and read all morning from a book titled, ‘Living in Union with Christ: Paul’s Gospel and Christian Moral Identity’ by Grant Macaskill.

So went by the morning hours and now we are in the afternoon hours. I plan to do nothing today.

Last night I spent the evening read from a book titled, ‘Mary McGrory: The First Queen of Journalism’ by John Norris. I went to bed around 11:10 PM. Carol had gone to bed around 10 o’clock PM after watching the first game of the World Series. I am not into baseball.

This afternoon Emily is dropping off Cora while she takes Josie to a dentist appointment in Grand Rapids.

Carol plans to go to an event tonight with family members. I might film a video while Carol is gone this evening. I have around thirty used books to show folks in a Youtube video. Below is a list of the used books I will show in this upcoming video-

the suffocating dilemmas of modern consciousness

It is 12:43 PM Tuesday afternoon in the death flow. It is a cold gray extremely windy day here in West Michigan. It has been predicted to be partly sunny tomorrow. I ought to mow our lawn this week before the first snow fall.

I got up this morning around 7:48 AM. When I got up I found my wife in our kitchen moving stuff around. My wife is getting our house ready when she retires from work next year June 2020. I got myself a glass of apple cider and went into our living room to mess with our main computer. After messing with our main computer I cooked myself eggs for a morning meal. After breakfast I listened to another lecture by Grant Macaskill. As I listened to this lecture I followed it in Macaskill’s new book titled, ‘Living in Union with Christ: Paul’s Gospel and Christian Moral Identity’.

I left the house this morning around 10:10 AM to visit local thrift stores to search for used books to ADD to our library. I found these used books today-

‘Paradise Postponed’ a novel by John Mortimer

‘The Stars Look Down’ a novel by A. J. Cronin

‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’ a novel by Robert Trossell

‘Russia: A Short History’ by Michael T. Florinsky

‘Normany ’44 D-Day And The Epic 77-Day Battle For France’ by James Holland

‘Lincoln And The Power of The Press’ by Harold Holzer

When I got home it was going on 11:30 AM. I messed with our main computer, wrote in my paper diary and then wrote in my paper diary. After writing in my paper diary I sat in the living room and read from a crime mystery titled, ‘Maigret And The Pickpocket’ by Simenon. Now I am writing in my online diaries. This day goes by normal thus far.

Last night we watched professional football and I read from a book titled, ‘My Century: The Odyssey of A Polish Intellectual’ autobiography by Aleksender Wat Edited and translated from the Polish by Richard Lourie.

Well I will close to face the final verdict.
